Dona Dress (Donate a Dress) Initiative

In 2013, Ms. Dee Maepa founded the Dona Dress (Donate a Dress) initiative, a heartfelt project born from a simple yet powerful act of kindness. It began when she chose to give away her own dresses, along with her mother’s elegant evening gowns, to young women who could not afford dresses for their matric dances. What started as a small gesture quickly grew into a movement of compassion, dignity, and empowerment.

Every year, having been truly blessed and highly favored, Ms. Maepa has continues to donate her gown and those donated by others. The goal is to ensure that no matric girl misses the opportunity to celebrate her special night simply because she cannot afford a dress.

At LEAN Empower, we believe that no one succeeds alone and it takes a community to uplift and empower others. We invite you to join us in making a difference. If you would like to be part of this beautiful initiative and donate your pre-loved gowns or evening dresses, please contact us.

Together, we can help young women step into their future with confidence, grace, and joy.
